African Snipe [Gallinago nigripennis]

Description

The African snipe is native to sub-Saharan Africa, where it inhabits marshes, swamps, and wetlands. It has a stocky body with a striped head, a long, straight beak used for probing the mud for food, and short, greenish legs. It feeds predominantly on insect larvae.
