Australasian Gannet [Morus serrator]
Description
The Australasian Gannet, also known as the Australian Gannet or Takapu, is a large seabird of the gannet family, Sulidae. Adults are about 84–95 cm (33–37 in) long and have a wingspan of about 170–200 cm (67–79 in). The species has a white body, with buff-yellow head and neck, and black tail and wing tips. Australasian Gannets are found in the waters around Australia and New Zealand, where they breed in large colonies on coastal islands. They feed on fish, which they catch by plunge-diving.
