Description
The Atlantic Whipnose Angler, scientifically known as Rhynchactis atlanticus, is another species in the Rhynchactis genus. It is primarily found in the western central Atlantic. It is characterized by a long, whip-like rostrum and a bioluminescent lure which it uses to attract prey. It is a benthopelagic species that resides in depths ranging from 800 to 3,400 meters.
