Tiger Cardinalfish [Cheilodipterus macrodon]
Description
Tiger Cardinalfish, also known as the Large-toothed Cardinalfish, is a marine fish species that is widely distributed across the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific area from the eastern coast of Africa to the oceanic islands of the central Pacific Ocean. This species is most commonly found in lagoons and seaward reefs. It is nocturnal and often hides in caves or under ledges during the day. This species is easily identified by its large mouth and distinguished color pattern, which consists of six black vertical bands on a silver body.
