Bridled monocle bream [Teixeirichthys jordani]
Description
This species is characterized by its oval body and large eyes. Its body color is usually silver-white with yellowish fins. The body is covered in small scales, and the dorsal fin is continuous and long. It is distinguished by a unique black band (or 'bridle') that extends from the snout, through the eye, to the preopercle. This species is found in tropical marine environments, specifically reef-associated habitats in the Indo-West Pacific region. They are usually seen in small groups or pairs, feeding on algae, detritus and small invertebrates.
