Silver Mullet [Myxus elongatus]
Description
The Silver Mullet, or Myxus elongatus, is a species of ray-finned fish in the family Mugilidae. It is found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea and East Africa to Samoa, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. It is a marine, freshwater, brackish, pelagic-neritic, amphidromous fish that is often found in coastal waters, estuaries, and rivers. They are known to feed on benthic organisms and detritus.
