Common solenette [Buglossidium luteum]
Description
The Common solenette is a small flatfish species native to the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. It's typically found in shallow waters, from the coastline to depths of about 100 meters. They typically inhabit sandy or muddy bottoms where they can camouflage effectively. They feed on small benthic invertebrates. Distinguishing features include an oval body, small mouth and eyes located on the right side of the body.
