Cauliflower conger [Paraconger caudilimbatus]
Description
Paraconger caudilimbatus, commonly known as the Cauliflower conger, is a marine fish species in the family Congridae. It is found in the Atlantic Ocean, specifically in the western central region. It is a demersal species, meaning it lives near the bottom of the sea, often in tropical climates. The Cauliflower conger prefers sandy or muddy habitats where it can bury itself during the day to avoid predators. It comes out at night to hunt for small benthic invertebrates. A distinguishing feature of the Cauliflower conger is its pectoral fin, which extends beyond the origin of the anal fin.
