Description

Plumapathes plumosa, or the Feathery Black Coral, is identified by its bushy, feather-like appearance. It is found in the Atlantic Ocean, specifically in the Caribbean Sea and off the coast of Brazil. This species prefers deeper waters, often between 30 and 60 meters. The colonies are generally black or dark brown in color, with polyps that are usually white or pale in color.
