Description
Sapphirina iris is a species of copepod found in warm and temperate seas worldwide. Like other members of the genus, the males are able to reflect light due to the crystal-like structures on their cuticle. The diet of Sapphirina iris consists mostly of phytoplankton and they are known to be most active during the day.
