Japanese tidepool copepod [Tigriopus japonicus]

Description
T. japonicus is a dominant species in tide pools along the coasts of Japan. They are small, brightly colored, and are known to survive in extreme conditions. They are also capable of rapid asexual reproduction. They feed on microscopic algae and detritus.
