Description
Bathysquilla eureka, also known as the White-eyed Mantis Shrimp, is a species endemic to the deep-sea environments of the eastern Pacific Ocean, predominantly off the coast of California. It has a distinct white coloration around its eyes, hence its common name. This species is well known for its burrowing behavior, using its claws to create burrows in the sediment where it hides during the day, emerging to hunt at night.
