Rockpool Isopod [Elthusa emarginata]

Description
The Rockpool Isopod, or Elthusa emarginata, is a small isopod that inhabits rocky intertidal zones. They are typically found in marine environments along the northeastern Atlantic coast. These isopods have a flattened body, with a reddish-brown color that helps them camouflage against rocky substrates. They are scavengers, feeding on dead organic matter, but can also feed on algae.
