Description

Poecilochaetus antarcticus, or the antarctic worm, is a species of marine worm found in the Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica. This worm is adapted to extremely cold temperatures and high pressures. It has a segmented body and is known for its bristle-like appendages. The species is predominantly a bottom-dweller, inhabiting soft sediments on the ocean floor, where it feeds on detritus.
