Flathead Mullet [Mugil cephalus]

Description
Commonly known as the flathead mullet, this species is a ray-finned fish found worldwide in coastal temperate and tropical waters. It is a schooling fish that frequently leaps out of the water. Flathead mullet are omnivorous, feeding on zooplankton, dead plant material, and algae. They are distinguished by their two separate dorsal fins, small mouth, and large, flat head.
