Description
The Common ragworm, Platynereis dumerilii, is a species of marine polychaete worm. It's found in many parts of the world's oceans but is most common in the North Atlantic. It's an important part of the benthic infauna, living in a burrow in the seabed. It's a highly versatile predator, feeding on a variety of smaller invertebrates. Characteristic features include its elongated body divided into numerous segments, each with a pair of parapodia bearing many bristles.
