Northern Chiton [Leptochiton asellus]

Description
A marine mollusk species that is widely distributed in the North Atlantic, from the Arctic to the Mediterranean. It is characterized by a shell comprised of overlapping plates. This species is found from the intertidal zone to depths of 400m, where it grazes on the undersides of rocks feeding on algae and detritus.
