Description
The Pharaoh Cuttlefish (Pharaonella pharaoh) is a large species of cuttlefish found in the tropical Indo-Pacific. It gets its name from the distinctive 'crown-like' patterns on its body. It is a highly intelligent creature, capable of changing its skin color and pattern to blend in with its surroundings. It feeds primarily on small fish and crustaceans. Females lay their eggs in crevices and guard them until they hatch.
