Description

The Striped venus is a species of bivalve mollusc in the family Veneridae. It is native to the Mediterranean Sea but can also be found in the Black Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It is characterized by its oval shape and distinct radial ribs. The shell color ranges from white to yellowish-brown with darker brown stripes, giving it its common name. The Striped venus thrives in sandy or muddy bottoms, usually between 5-30 meters deep.
