Description
The Japanese Bittersweet Clam, also known as Nuttallia olivacea, is a small bivalve mollusk. It has a thin, oval shell that ranges from a light olive to dark black. They inhabit the intertidal to subtidal zones of sandy and muddy substrates. They are filter feeders, consuming plankton and detritus from the water column.
