Description
The Lunulicardia centenaria, commonly known as the Moon Shell, is a species of bivalve mollusc in the family Cardiidae. This species is found in the Gulf of Mexico, along the Atlantic coast of North America, and in the Caribbean Sea. It inhabits sandy and muddy substrates in shallow marine environments. The shell of the Moon Shell is rounded and convex, with a lunule (moon-shaped area) on the anterior side, which gives it its common name.
