Description
The smooth duck clam, or Scapharca subcrenata, is a species of ark clam found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It is a benthic species, living on sandy and muddy bottoms in shallow to moderate depths. Its shell is relatively smooth compared to other ark clams, with fine radial ribs. It is an edible species and is often harvested for food.
