Smooth Angular Spindle [Fusinus angulosus var. laevis]

Description
The Smooth Angular Spindle is a variety of Fusinus angulosus distinguished by its smooth shell surface, devoid of the angular ridges common in the genus. The shell is elongated and tapers at both ends, in line with the spindle shape characteristic of the genus. It inhabits the Atlantic Ocean, particularly off West Africa's coast. Like its relatives, it is typically found in sandy substrates and feeds on marine invertebrates.
