Description

Pelagodroma is a genus represented by the White-faced Storm Petrel, known for its unique face markings and buoyant flight. These small seabirds have pale plumage with a distinctive white face contrasted by a dark eye mask. Pelagodroma species are pelagic, spending most of their lives flying over open ocean, far from land. They feed on small fish and squid, caught by surface dipping and pattering, and breed on isolated islands, nesting in burrows where they lay a single egg each breeding season.
