Tevnia is a genus of tubeworms found in hydrothermal vent communities. These worms are among the pioneer species that colonize new vents, known for their rapid growth rates. Tevnia species have a symbiotic relationship with chemosynthetic bacteria, which enables them to convert the chemical energy from vent fluids into organic compounds for nutrition.
