Description

Spurilla includes aeolid nudibranchs characterized by robust bodies and a variety of bright color patterns. These nudibranchs have densely packed cerata over the back, which serve not only for respiration but also for defense, as they can store nematocysts from their prey. Spurilla species are found in temperate and tropical seas worldwide, where they often feed on anemones.
