Description
Spirolaxis, known as spiny sundials, belongs to the family Architectonicidae and is remarkable for its distinctively spiny or ridged shells. These marine snails are usually small and possess shells with a high spire, adorned with rows of spines or ridges. They inhabit tropical and subtropical seas, often found in sandy or muddy substrates. Spirolaxis species are scavengers, feeding on dead organic material on the ocean floor.
