Description
Moringua is a genus within the family Moringuidae, commonly known as spaghetti eels due to their long, thin, and cylindrical bodies resembling spaghetti. These eels inhabit sandy and muddy bottoms in shallow tropical and subtropical seas. They are characterized by their small eyes, elongated bodies, and the absence of pectoral fins. Moringua species are burrowers, spending most of their time hidden under the substrate, with only their heads exposed to detect prey passing by.
