Sea Mice [Aphrodita]

Description

Aphrodita is a genus of polychaete worms in the family Aphroditidae, commonly known as sea mice due to their furry appearance. These marine worms are characterized by their dense covering of iridescent setae (bristles) that can reflect light, creating a spectrum of colors. They inhabit the sea floor, mostly in the Atlantic Ocean, where they scavenge on dead animals. Aphrodita species have a flattened body shape, which helps them burrow into the sediment.
