Parerythropodium [Parerythropodium]
Description
Parerythropodium contains a unique set of corals within the Alcyoniidae family, characterized by their encrusting form and ability to resemble a thin film over rocks and coral rubble. These corals are mostly found in shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific region. They have a somewhat translucent appearance with colors that blend into their surroundings, making them difficult to spot. Parerythropodium plays a key role in the ecosystem by contributing to the stability of the reef structure.
