Nymphon [Nymphon]
Description
Nymphon is the largest genus within the family Nymphonidae, comprising a wide variety of sea spiders. These marine arthropods are characterized by their slender bodies and long, thin legs which can be many times the length of their body. They inhabit a range of marine environments from shallow waters to the deep sea. Nymphon species are predators or scavengers, feeding on small invertebrates. They have a unique feeding mechanism involving a proboscis that allows them to suck nutrients from their prey.
