Northern Fulmars [Fulmarus]
Description
Fulmarus is a genus of seabirds known as the fulmars, closely related to the petrels and shearwaters. These birds are medium-sized with a stout build and have a pale grey and white plumage. They are excellent fliers, capable of gliding on the ocean winds for hours. Northern fulmars are highly adapted to a pelagic lifestyle, feeding on fish, squid, and zooplankton, often following ships to pick up offal.
