Moss Crabs [Microphrys]
Description
Microphrys is a genus of small crabs known as moss crabs due to their camouflaging behavior, similar to decorator crabs. They are found in the Atlantic Ocean, from the coast of North America to the Caribbean. These crabs have a triangular carapace and are often covered in algae or debris to blend into their surroundings. Moss crabs are benthic dwellers, living among rocks and corals where they feed on detritus and small invertebrates.
