Dibranchus [Dibranchus]
Description
Dibranchus, another genus within the Ogcocephalidae family, consists of species that are also adapted to a demersal (bottom-dwelling) existence. Like other batfishes, Dibranchus species have a flattened body shape and pectoral fins modified for 'walking' on the seabed. They are characterized by their globular to disc-shaped bodies, which are often covered in skin appendages that aid in camouflage amongst the ocean floor's detritus and structures.
