Collinsia [Collinsia]

Description

Collinsia is a lesser-known genus of the crowned jellyfish family, found in deep ocean waters. These jellyfish are characterized by their transparent or slightly pigmented bodies, with a distinct crown shape similar to other members of their family. Like Atolla, they inhabit the deep sea and are adapted to life in low-light conditions. They play a role in the deep-sea food web, feeding on small fish, plankton, and other marine invertebrates.
