Chalice Corals [Oxypora]
Description
Oxypora is a genus within the Pectiniidae family, also commonly known as chalice corals, similar to Echinophyllia. Oxypora corals are distinguished by their heavily textured, often brightly colored surfaces and lobed edges. They tend to form encrusting or plating structures that can become quite elaborate. Found in a variety of reef settings, these corals require similar care to other chalice corals, with moderate to high lighting and water flow to thrive.
