Bolbometopon is a genus of parrotfish known for the Green Humphead Parrotfish. This genus is characterized by its large size, with individuals reaching up to 1.3 meters in length, making them the largest parrotfish species. They are distinguished by their prominent forehead bump, which becomes more pronounced with age. These parrotfish are found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea to the central Pacific Ocean, and are crucial for coral reef health, as they feed on algae growing on the coral.
