Blue Dragons [Glaucus]
Description
Glaucus is a genus of small, floating, pelagic sea slugs in the family Glaucidae. These strikingly beautiful mollusks are known for their bright blue coloration and silver underside, which provides camouflage against the ocean's surface from below and protection from predation. Members of this genus feed on venomous cnidarians such as the Portuguese man o' war. Remarkably, they are able to concentrate the venom within their own tissues, which can make them dangerous to human handlers.
