Description

Fregetta is a genus within the Hydrobatidae family, including species like the Black-bellied Storm Petrel and the White-bellied Storm Petrel. These birds are small, with distinctive black-and-white plumage patterns, particularly on their underparts. Fregetta species are adapted to an oceanic lifestyle, spending most of their life at sea, only coming ashore to breed. They lay a single egg in burrows or crevices on remote islands and feed on a diet of small fish, squid, and surface zooplankton.
