Artacama [Artacama]

Description

Artacama is a genus of marine polychaete worms in the family Trichobranchidae. Members of this genus are characterized by their long, slender bodies and distinct segmentation. They inhabit soft sediments on the ocean floor, where they construct tubes out of mud and secretions to reside in. These worms are suspension feeders, capturing plankton and detritus from the water column with their feathery tentacles.
