Antarctic whelks [Buccinofusus]

Description

Buccinofusus, or Antarctic whelks, are uniquely adapted to the cold Antarctic and sub-Antarctic marine environments. They possess robust, often heavily sculptured shells and are carnivorous, feeding on a variety of marine invertebrates.
