Antalis [Antalis]

Description
Antalis is a genus of scaphopod mollusks, commonly known as tusk shells, that inhabit marine environments. These animals are characterized by their elongated, tubular shells which are open at both ends, resembling an elephant's tusk. The genus Antalis includes species that burrow into soft substrates in the ocean floor where they feed on microscopic organisms by filtering them from the water using a specialized feeding apparatus called a captacula.
