Agaricia [Agaricia]
Description
Agaricia is a genus of thin, leafy or plate-like corals which are either solitary or colonial. These corals are found in the Atlantic Ocean, especially in the Caribbean Sea. They exhibit a range of colors, primarily brown or green, and possess small polyps that are often retracted during the day. Agaricia species are important reef builders and contribute to the complexity of coral reef habitats.
