Abyssanthus is a genus of deep-sea corals belonging to the family Abyssoanthidae. Members of this genus are known for inhabiting the abyssal zones of the oceans, typically found at depths greater than 2,000 meters. These corals are characterized by their small size, solitary polyps, and the ability to live in complete darkness. They are suspension feeders, capturing plankton and organic particles that fall from the upper layers of the ocean.
