Tube Anemones [Cerianthidae]
Description
Cerianthidae, or tube anemones, differ from other anemones by living inside a soft, secreted tube, which they can retract into for protection. They have two sets of tentacles: a longer set for feeding that surrounds the mouth and a shorter set for protection near the top of the tube. Tube anemones are found in a variety of marine environments, from shallow waters to deep sea.
