Olive snails [Olividae]
Description
Olividae, or olive snails, are a family of small to medium-sized predatory sea snails. These snails have smooth, elongated, and highly polished shells, usually in shades of olive green, hence their common name. Olive snails are burrowers, living in sandy substrates where they hunt for small invertebrates. Their smooth shells are adaptations for a life spent mostly buried beneath the sand.
