Description

Stomatopodae, commonly known as mantis shrimps, are not true shrimps but belong to the order Decapoda. They are known for their strikingly colored bodies and powerful claws, which they use to capture prey with incredible speed and force. Mantis shrimps are aggressive and solitary predators, typically found in tropical and subtropical marine environments, burrowed in the seafloor.
