Laubierinidae [Laubierinidae]
Description
Laubierinidae is a family of scaphopods that is distinguished by having very small, slender shells. These animals are among the least studied of the scaphopods, with much of their biology and ecology remaining unknown. What is known suggests that they share the burrowing, sediment-dwelling lifestyle of their relatives, subsisting on a diet of microorganisms captured with their captacula.
