Halicyathidae [Halicyathidae]

Description

Halicyathidae family members are stalked jellyfish known for their relatively small size and simple, cup-shaped bodies. They possess a stalk used for attachment to the substrate, usually rocks or macroalgae, in marine environments ranging from shallow to moderately deep waters. Their diet primarily consists of tiny planktonic organisms. Halicyathidae are characterized by having a single whorl of tentacles around the margin of their bell, distinguishing them from other stalked jellyfish families.
