Goblin Sharks [Mitsukurinidae]

Description

Mitsukurinidae, or goblin sharks, represent a family with a single living species known as the goblin shark (Mitsukurina owstoni). These deep-sea sharks are identifiable by their distinctive elongated snouts and protrusible jaws filled with nail-like teeth. Goblin sharks inhabit continental slopes and deep-sea trenches. Their pinkish coloration and peculiar appearance make them one of the most unique representatives of the order Lamniformes.
